Our Referral Process: What Happens Next

At River’s Edge Specialty Pharmacy, we’ve designed our referral process to be simple, efficient, and provider-friendly—so your patients can start therapy without delays, and your staff can stay focused on care.

1. Send the referral

Submit the patient’s referral using our secure referral form, along with the following:

  • Completed prescription or order
  • Patient demographics and insurance information
  • Relevant clinical notes or labs
Referrals can be sent via fax, secure email, or directly through your EMR—whatever works best for your workflow.

 

2. We Handle the Details

Once we receive the referral, our team takes it from there:

  • Conduct benefits investigation
  • Obtain prior authorization, if required
  • Coordinate financial assistance, copay support, or foundation funding if eligible
  • Schedule nursing services or site-of-care, if infusion is needed
You’ll receive updates along the way, and we’ll reach out immediately if we need anything further to avoid delays.

 

3. Patient Onboarding & Support

Our care team contacts the patient to:

  • Review their therapy and answer questions
  • Arrange delivery or schedule infusion appointments
  • Provide education and ongoing support tailored to their needs

We stay in close communication with both your office and the patient to ensure seamless care and strong adherence.
